Why Wine Drunk is the Best Drunk

October 6, 2020 by G D

Let’s begin with Science, after all, they have proven facts to work with. Everyone feels different depending on what beverage they have chosen to be their indulgence, both mentally and physically. That’s a fact, Jack.  Wine has a lower level of ethanol than Liquor. Consuming four glasses of Wine has nowhere near the amount of ethanol as four shots of Liquor, and the brain reacts much differently.

Women tend to have the most fun with Wine.

Girlfriends get together and have the best catching up on life and fun gossiping nights.  As they lose their inhibitions one sip at a time, friendships are built, and relationships grow over glasses, which leads to a couple of bottles of wine. They share all their secrets and secrets they had heard from one another over a few bottles of wine.

They can all have sexy purple teeth by the end of the night, and nobody cares or judges one another. There is no reason to apply more lipstick because Wine has helped in the make-up department for that.

Nothing is classier than holding a glass of wine versus a bottle of beer.

Their stomachs don’t become bloated. They aren’t so full they can’t still eat something to help them sober up enough to have one more glass of wine.

Some benefits of having a Wine Drunk.

You are helping your body! Your heart is happy, your cholesterol is going down, your insulin levels are working in your favor, you are taking in antioxidants, helping your blood vessels function better which helps with inflammation. All while also putting anti-aging nutrients in your body because those grapes contain such wonderful qualities, after all, you are consuming a fruit. Dr’s do tell us; we are to have at least three or four servings of fruit every day.

When you order a glass of wine, you know how much alcohol is in your drink.

Drinking an entire bottle of wine is almost always cheaper than hard liquor. It comes in so many price ranges but still achieves a healthy happy place, versus stiff, mixed drinks or beer.

When one has three or four shots of vodka while having mixed drinks, people may not be able to understand you. Three or four glasses of wine, you’re a happy person but people can still make out what you’re saying, and you still have your wits to know when it’s time to call for a ride home and tuck yourself in bed. Now had you been drinking the same amount of Vodka or Bourbon, ya probably think everything is fine and the night is just getting started, something you will most likely pay for in the morning.

A few glasses of wine and your emotions are heightened. It is part of how the wine acts within the brain.   One begins to see another one’s point of view. Love, understanding, and forgiveness come much easier. By the third and fourth glass, friends can become Best friends as conversations continue to flow and you feel as though you truly know where the other person is coming from.

One can come across being very smart by knowing just a few things about Wine. Pairing cheese with wine becomes something you are an expert on. Even if you really have no idea, and just know cheese sounds really good right now and you’re still sensible enough to know you need something to eat.

While Wine may not have games like beer pong or flip the cup, you will benefit from not have a beer belly or be bloated. An added perk, you will never be gassy from too much Wine.

You can always have another glass of wine during a dinner, luncheon, or event and nobody is going to judge or think that you have a drinking problem.

Two or three glasses of wine, and you can still pronounce your words and hold a conversation.

When the day or night events end.

You’re not bloated, you’re not so full that you actually roll into bed. You still remember the evening events and the conversations that occurred. You may have told people you love them, but you did not dance on any tables. You may have shared information you may or may not have normally shared, but you also remember the information shared with you.

Wine will help you to get a particularly good night’s sleep. Red grapes contain the hormone melatonin. The fermentation process has been said to increase the amount of melatonin. So, Red or White, they both have gone through the fermentation process. You still consumed some natural form of melatonin.

ALWAYS remember to drink at least one large glass of water before going to bed. One needs that to help wash out any congeners, tannings, and ethanol consumed. Also applies if other beverages have been partaken of during the day or evening events.

As always, I ask Social Media their thoughts, and here is some of what they had to say:

“Are you saying you’re drunk by drinking it? To me, wine is drunk for the flavor, bouquet, and what you’re eating with it!! It’s also refreshing if white or rose!!”

“I love wine and quite the connoisseur!! I’ve spent a fair amount on Good wine mainly red!! But do love a white with a good body!! It’s to be appreciated like a good single malt sweetheart!!”

“It has a lot of occasions…drinking color by occasion!! For example…you wouldn’t sit outside in the sun with a red!! That’s to be savored inside either with a meal or with company that appreciates a red!! Outside then a rose or white! Then again a white is good with a starter meal before the main!!! I could go on and on Hun!! Lol xxx”

“Better for healthier choices and can be shared at dinner or family get together, you can’t share a beer that way or spirits.”

Why Is Wine Good for you, and what are the benefits?

September 24, 2020 by G D

So glad you asked! Do you know that large organ which pumps your blood throughout your body? Yep, that’s the one, your Heart! Centuries of cultures have known the benefits of drinking Red and White wine, not just on special occasions but daily. We’re going clear back to the oldest-known winery in c. 4100 B.C (The “c.” means around or approximately, saved you the trouble of looking it up) We are talking the Stone Age folks! Since it’s discovery and evolvement Wine has been an essential part of Social, Religious, and Cultural life for as long as we have discovered that wonderful grape. Monasteries’ believed the Monks lived longer because they included wine as a core part of their daily meals.

Enough with the History lesson, on-to the Heart benefits

Just as the real nutrients of a potato is the skin, it’s the same with Wine! Yep, that beautiful skin from the grapes holds the antioxidants power of providing all kinds of health benefits! Let’s start with good cholesterol, resveratrol, polyphenols, and as a bonus help with inflammation. Can you believe all that from the skin of a grape! Not to mention the big one, proven by many universities, the long-lasting benefits from helping to protect the heart of coronary disease, circulatory system, lowering cholesterol, protecting against blood clots, and prevention of diabetes. If a Grape ever had bragging rights, I believe it has walked the red carpet and won the award.  Let’s not forget to give it a final nod, it’s made from pure nature. No wonder they called it the nectar of the Gods!

The Red wines seem to hold the winning card when it comes to the most benefits but don’t discount the Whites, each has their own set of added benefits. Everything from both being heart-healthy to aging to even weight loss. Yes, believe it or not, weight loss. Apparently, whites are the most beneficial when it comes to weight loss because they have fewer calories than the reds. The residuals help your insulin to assist with sugar levels and diabetes.

The Variety

The Red’s we have a vast variety, here are just a few.  Pinot noir, Merlot, Lambrusco, Port, Cabernet Tranc, Muscat, Brachetto d’Acqui, Syrah, Zinfandel, Shiraz, Grenache, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Clos Mont-Blanc.

The Whites also have a vast variety, here are just a few of my favorites.  Riesling, Pino Grigio, Moscato, Chardonnay (which I believe on this hot Summer night I’ll pour a glass of Chardonnay), Sauvignon blanc, and the Viognier.

Let’s not forget about Cooking!

Cooking with wine is also beneficial. The comparison would be using olive oil versus using butter. Yes, it’s that compatible with the flavor it brings out, you might be surprised. Look at Chicken Marsala! What would that be without the Marsala wine!? Nothing but chicken with some mushrooms, garlic, and a side of pasta. Just saying.

Each Wine with its own unique flavor makes pairing them with just the right meal, dessert, after-dinner drink to bring out the flavors of the meal or to complement what is being served. Or we could just simply like wine and pour a beautiful glass after a long day or a fun afternoon luncheon with some Sangria!

Merlot is my go-to when I am cooking a Filet Mignon or almost any kind of steak. Same with a Cabernet Sauvignon or Clos Mont-Blanc.

Whites pair best with almost any Fish, Chicken or Salad dish. The fruity white and dry wines complement the dishes, bringing out the bouquet of flavors

Don’t forget the benefits of Champagne!

Who doesn’t love strawberries and Champagne! Here is one that will shock you. It improves your memory, improves your skin, contains fewer calories than wine! A fact you probably already know, it gets you drunk quickly. All of that and Yes, it’s good for your Heart. But wait until you read this. Drinking it daily has shown it could help with the prevention of Dementia and Alzheimer’s! The memory aid found in champagne is a different compound, phenolic acid. Researchers have found that three glasses a day of the good old bubbly could very well help with these brain disorders. Who knew!? Well, now you do.

I asked some folks on Social Media to chime in and here is what they had to say:

“The year 2020. A reason and a benefit”

“Lowers my anxiety”

“Residual helps improve insulin to help prevent diabetes. Resveratrol helps the heart by lowering blood sugar and reduces bad cholesterols”

“Helps me relax and gain back some patience to deal with the children during this epidemic”

“Helps to drown out my Dad at 80, he can get cranky”

“Sipping wine is a sharing experience. Not only sharing the wine, but the stories and time spent together. The pouring of the wine might help to open the flow of conversation. Also, the type of wine may influence the food choices that people enjoy with it”

“Creativity is heightened, and the world becomes a better place”

“Makes me relax and lowers my inhibitions of life stress”

“I just simply feel good after a glass of those beautiful grapes”

“It reduces the risk of cancer”

“It’s stronger than a beer and more refreshing”

“It compliments many types of dinners”

“Good for the heart and tastes nice too”

“Certain grapes, especially Malbec have a good dose of resveratrol which is proven to increase lifespan and lessen disease processes”

Does Wine Freeze? Can You Freeze Wine?

September 6, 2020 by G D

Of course, YES, if done properly. Just placing a bottle of wine in the freezer will do if you are only looking to chill the wine. Going to recommend something, SET A TIMER! On your phone, oven, something! The wine expands as it freezes. I’m speaking from experience. Don’t set a timer, and you will end up with a wine freezer mess that will make you shut the door, walk away, and find another bottle to start over.  It is already spilled wine, and it’s contained in the freezer and can wait, and you will think of this article. Set a Timer!

What you should do is invest in some of the inexpensive ice cube trays, at least four of them. Why at least four? I’m guessing you have different tastes in wine and that’s why it will come in very handy. Handy as in, you have wine ice cubes of them! Trust me on this.

Here are just some simple examples as to why you will want to create some ice cube trays filled with your favorite wine.

Let’s take a simple one such as Chardonnay. Nobody wants or likes a watered-down glass of Chardonnay, not me, I trust we all enjoy it nice and chilled. Of course, you have already chilled the wine a minimum of two hours before serving, but what do you do once it has been served to keep it that temperature?

Open two bottles (we know it is going to be done anyway), fill one or two ice cube trays with the Chardonnay. As you’re chatting away enjoying the company of friends and family, time goes by and the wine becomes a bit un-chilled. You now become the best Host or Hostess ever with your secret weapon, Chardonnay wine cubes!  One cube per customer and watch the smiles happen and the “oh, I never thought of that! Smart!”

The other great one, Sangria! We all know that is one delightful fruity wine that must be served with a nice, and refreshing chill to it. So, when you are done creating that fruity wine beauty, fill up at least 4 ice cube trays with it! Do this at least an hour before any guest arrive. Once you have served the already chilled wine, about 20 minutes later, grab the frozen Sangria ice cubes and chill everyone’s glasses. Or, place the frozen wine cubes into a bowl with a serving tong to grab them and let your guests help themselves.

Just my own personal experience, always fill a wine ice tray once you have emptied one, trust me on this. Keeping up with being the best Host or Hostess, you will easily maintain the chill and smiles to be had coming.

Now the Red wines. Usually always served at room temperature. But, “always” doesn’t “always” apply to Red Wines. Really with the Red’s, it is up to how you prefer it or knowing how a family member or a guest enjoys it. A Rosa or some lighter reds of the blended Cabs or Pino’s, many times they are preferred to be served a bit chilled. Chilled or becoming too warm when serving the red wines, you already have the solution for that. The backup tray of wine cubes!

That little bit of left-over wine comes in very handy and put it to use! How to keep it fresh and not become, well, undrinkable and just a waste as you dump it down the kitchen sink? Freeze those last half glasses of the wines into wine cubes! You would be surprised when it is needed and ya have it! Making a sauce for just two and need just a bit of wine to add flavor for the recipe? A solution awaits in your freezer. How many wine reduction sauces call for some wine? Umm, all of them! Yes, any wine can be frozen.

Now what to do with a bunch of ice cube trays filled with wine you do not need right now? Well, it is a big help to know “what wine is what”? and to bonus, the number of cubes you would need for a recipe. A simple zip lock bag or a freezer container labeled with the type, date, and amount. Take the time to pour it into a measuring glass to know exactly what you have, or if you cook like me sometimes, just chuck in the number of cubes you think you need, and add as needed.

2020 Wine Holidays – A Reason to Drink -Like we didn’t need a reason already this year.

April 13, 2020 by G D

February

1st February – International Furmint Day is always the first day in February. What is a Furmint, you ask? It is one of the most important grape varieties in Hungary.  Mostly dry wines are cultivated form the Furmint, but it is also the main ingredient of highly prized sweet dessert wines. https://www.furmintday.com/

18th February – National Drink Wine Day – always the 18th day of February http://nationaldrinkwineday.org/

29th February – Open “That Bottle” Night was invented by “Tastings” columnists Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher. It is a worldwide celebration of family and friends. The best excuse for opening that special bottle after 5 PM.   It is always the last Saturday of February.

March

3rd March – Mulled Wine Day

18th March – World Riesling Day – Interestingly, this is observed on the 18th of March, when Wines of Germany has declared March 13 to be the official birthday of the Riesling Wine. The Riesling grape variety was first documented in 1435. Germany is home to the Riesling grapes and accounts for forty-five percent of all world Riesling.

April

17th April – World Malbec Day – Celebrate the Diverse Argentine Malbec wines. https://www.malbecworldday.com/

May

1st May – International Sauvignon Blanc Day Celebrated on the first Friday of May.  One of our favorite wines with most having notes of green apple, lime, white peach, and passion fruit. Most are very dry wines.

9th May – Moscato Day  – This drinking day is brought to you buy the Gallo Family Vineyards. Moscato wine is one of the most popular white wines in the United States.

17th May – Pinot Grigio Day – a versatile crisp white wine. Pinot Grigio is the perfect wine for May BBQs and lazy days at the beach.

21st May – International Chardonnay Day – The Thursday before Memorial Day.

June

20th June – Lambrusco Day celebrates the unique lightly sparkling wine with a tart berry flavor profile.

13th of June – National Rose` Day is the second Saturday in June.

26th of June – International Rose Day  ( Fourth Friday in June) – yeah, they had to have more than one day for a grape dating back to 600BC.

August

4th August- National White Wine Day! -You can find some steals and deals on this day! It is an annual day to celebrate White Wine! First, always chill those fabulous bottles. A Fruit theme is your build around for any get together or a nice dinner. The variety of cheese alone, Brie, Gouda, Baby Swiss, Monterey Jack, Parmesan, Provolone, and Asiago are just a chosen few. No matter what you choose, you cannot lose when adding White Wine. Here is just a few of the variety: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, White Zinfandel, Riesling to Sauvignon Blanc. Any of the selection pairs well with a chicken or fish dish.

18th August – International Pinot Noir Day– This would be a magnificent day to make sure you chill that Pinot Noir and pick out some white fresh fish for dinner (Mai-Mai comes to mind, Chilean Sea Bass or Halibut!) Do not forget the cheeses!  A sharp cheddar or a smokey cheese will complement the fruity flavor of the Wine.

30th August – International Cabernet Sauvignon Day
This is truly a day to enjoy the favorite in the red wine family. An elegant blend, one that can be noticeably light to a refined rich, and powerful flavor. Interesting fact: the blend of grapes is used to make some of the most expensive wines down to the most inexpensive wines.  Created in all parts of the World from France to Napa Valley, California! The soils make the difference to bring out the flavors. No matter where it comes from, it is delicious!  Pairing the wine with food is amazingly easy for a Cabernet.

Anything from red meat to ahi tuna, they will blend beautifully with a Cabernet! It is also great for sauces and reductions to go over red meats.  Some suggestions of red meats; Prime Rib, New York, or a nice Filet Mignon. If you are doing appetizers, the cherry and black flavors of the wine will bring out flavors of prosciutto and almost any Italian cooking. A robust Italian salad with Prosciutto and Salome is a bonus! Spaghetti or Lasagna with Parmesan and Mozzarella.

September

3rd September – International Cabernet Day – This includes all varieties at once, so nothing gets left out in the Cabernet Family of Grapes!

18th September – International Grenache Day – Did you know, “Grenache and Garnacha” mean the same thing? They do! One is French “Grenache”, the other is Spain “Garnacha”. It’s always a blend of red grapes and never disappoints. As an added fact, the grapes are very resilient and can be grown all over the world! So if ya get it from Spain or California, you’re sure to enjoy the flavor of the grape!

October

10th October – International Pinotage Day – A proudly celebrated South African blend filled with fruits from plums and cherries. If aged in Oak, the vanilla and coffee aromas come to life. As a bonus, the aging in Oak adds a bit of spicy. The wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Hermitage (Cinsaut) grapes. This merging of the grapes created quite a gathering in 1995 of the Pinotage Association.  Many social events around the world celebrate this day.

23rd October – World Champagne Day  – And you thought it was just for special occasions or New Years’ Eve! NOPE! Champagne has many healthy values. Memory is the main one that comes to mind. Yes, Champagne helps with Memory retention! No, not when drinking it (at least not any of my experiences), but, YES! It always goes well with a fruit that has a sweetness but can be not too sweet such a strawberry, raspberry, or blueberry.  Know that it does tend to make one a bit tipsy in a hurry, why it is meant to sipped. Please make sure it is very chilled, and simply enjoy.  Oh, I almost forgot, dip the berries in some whip cream, bite the berry, sip the champagne. Thank me later.

31st October – International Carignan Day

November

1st November- International Xinomavro Day– Let us celebrate the Greeks! Specifically, Northern Greece.  The main purpose of this day, anything Greek. Olives, feta cheese, lamb, and WINE! But we cannot forget the OUZA! Back to the Wine.

7th November – International Merlot Day – One of my favorites! History- One of the most grapes planted in South Western France, the beautiful land of Bordeaux. They say, out of all the grapes, this is the one that holds the most hectares (flavor). Did you know, an average of 62% of Bordeaux grapes planted are Merlot, then followed by a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s not just France that holds beautiful grapes, Switzerland, Australia, Argentina, and of course, the Americas. They all hold the nectar of the grapes very well. Enjoy!

12th November – International Tempranillo Day – Just what is this? Well, it is all about the Spanish Grape. First, Tempranillo means “very old”. So far back, it’s B.C and Spain had/has the cornerstone of the market.  The best thing, it is an overall simple beautiful red wine which can be partaken at any given gathering. When looking for a nice, soft red wine, you can never go wrong when choosing the grapes of Spain.

24th November – International Carmenère Day– To the United States, that’s Thanksgiving Day! This wonderful Grape wine was thought to have been lost. Wiped out back in the 1860’s from a pandemic. All to be found again, due to a mislabeling it was mistaken for a Merlot. Known as “The Lost Grape of Bordeaux”, its flavor is not too fruity and not too spicy, just a perfect blend to the pallet.

December

4th December – Cabernet Franc Day– Forget the tea glasses! Please bust out the Wine glasses! We have so much to savior today! We are celebrating the passing of Cardinal Richelieu, the father of Cabernet Franc. This wine is not to be mistaken for a Cabernet Sauvignon. The grape is one of the three main grapes used in the Bordeaux blends. Its flavor holds a rustic earthiness filled with a bit of cherry, followed by a hint of an orange twist. Best served a bit chilled (20 minutes in the fridge) and then allow to breathe for half-hour. It will still be chilled enough to hold the right temperature, bringing out all its bouquet of flavor. Enjoy.

20th December- Sangria Day– Anyone already received a fruit basket? Let us put it to use by creating a delicious Sangria! Let’s begin by grabbing some “in season” fruit and have fun. This wine was created by the Romans to mask the flavor and kill bacteria in drinking water.  Originated in Spain, Portugal. It’s simple, a cheap red wine, citrus fruits (oranges, lemons) berries (any member of the berry family), honey, and sugar. Even better, peaches and mangos!  Best to make the day before, this will allow the absorption of all the flavors, but you can also throw it together and allow it to sit a few hours before serving. Always served chilled as it is a refreshing beverage. Adding Brandy for a bit more of a “kick” will add to the flavor, as if you enjoy bubbles, some soda water will do the trick. Oh’ and some Triple Sec will add a bonus of flavor.

Wine Collecting For Beginners

March 4, 2010 by admin

Collecting wine can be a very fun and exciting hobby – especially when you try to find the wine. If you are looking to collect wine, you may end up spending a bit more money than you thought. Wine collecting is a great hobby, although it can be very expensive. If you are just starting out, the tips below may come in very handy to help you get started.

The first thing to do, is find a place to store your wine. You can store your wine at home, although you’ll need to have a location with the proper amount of space and cooling temperature (between 50 and 65 degrees F). You’ll also need to determine what brands and types of wine you are planning to collect. There are several options to choose from, including red and white wine. You’ll also need to find some places with good quality and refinery to buy your wine from.

You can always participate in tastings and trade shows as well. Here, you can meet other people who are into wine collecting, and get to know local traders. You should also strive to learn as much as you can about wine. You can learn a lot about wine on the Internet, or by reading magazines and newsletters dedicated to wine. By doing so, you can also learn more about storage, buying wine, and even cooling your wine.

To better prepare your wine for storage, you can try tasting different varieties. This way, you can identify which wines you need to age more. You’ll learn more about wine this way as well, such as how to distinguish tastes. You may also want to learn how to identify the flavor quality as well. As you may already know, there is a difference among rare vintage wines and wines that are instantly processed.

If you are just beginning to collect wine, you should avoid purchasing in bulk until you know for sure what types of wine you wish to collect. When you visit a wine trader, you should let him know that you are a collector. This way, he can inform you whether or not the wines you are collecting are available in his inventory. If you hope to collect wines from other areas, he may be able to give you contact information for finding the wines you are interested in.

Keep in mind that wine collecting isn’t all about fun – it’s also a great way to eventually start your own business. You can attend wine shows and tasting events to learn more about the different brands, and also find wines that will bring in higher profits. Once you have collected some rare bottles of wine – you can start selling and watch your profits soar.

Why You Should Use A Wine Rack

March 4, 2010 by admin

For wine to mature in the proper way, you’ll need to have the right humidity, temperature, light condition, and movement. Whenever you are storing wine for any amount of time, you’ll need to ensure that the wine is in a safe place. Even though there are a few ways that you can store wine, none are safer or smarter than using a wine rack.

When you choose your wine rack, you should always remember to choose one that will store your wine properly. There are a several styles to choose from, including those that stack, wall mounts, and side mounts. You should also pay attention to size as well, as the sizes range from storing a few bottles to storing hundreds. You’ll also have a lot of varieties and designs to select from, all of which depend on your needs and your space.

Among the best types of wine racks are the horizontal racks. Contrary to what many may think, vertical racks aren’t a good choice for storing your wine. Wine that is stored on vertical racks are stored vertically, which means that the cork will dry out and eventually start to shrink, bringing air into the wine and ruining it. On the other hand, vertical racks can come in handy when storing wine for short periods of time, or wine that is best consumed young.

Tilted racks are another type of rack you should avoid using, as they can dry out the corks or deposit the sediments too close to the cork. For your wine storing needs, you should always go with a horizontal rack. Horizontal racks will keep the cork moist, and keep unwanted air from making contact with the wine. The sediment will fall towards the side of the bottle, preventing spillage when you pop the cork. Horizontal racks are also very affordable and you can always add more racks to the design with little to no problem.

The materials for wine racks are normally wood or metal. You can hang them from ceilings, mount them on the wall, or simply place them on the floor. Metal racks are the strongest, although wood is more flexible. Wooden racks provide a bit more storage, for the simple fact that you can always add to them. Wood racks are also visually appealing, durable, and provide plenty of strength.

All in all, a wine rack is a fine investment for anyone who appreciates wine. There are various sizes to choose from, all of which are very affordable. The small to medium sizes work best for homes, while the large styles are best for commercial settings. No matter where you keep your wine – you can count on a wine rack to keep your wine stored for years to come.

How To Pair Food And Wine

March 4, 2010 by admin

Are you looking forward to pair your favorite meal with a good quality wine, then you require to have an extensive knowledge about pairing the wine and food in a correct order. In case, you fail to do so, you will spoil the whole fun. In fact you would be spoiling the taste of the best quality wine and the best food item.

The bad qualities you may introduce via pairing wine and food in an incorrect form include extra sweetness, bitterness, alcoholic properties and non-desirable metallic flavors.

You can easily adopt several foolproof methods to pair food and wine in correct form. First and foremost, you should remember that the food and wine you want to pair should have similar characteristics. You should think of a porter if you want to have red wine in your lunch or dinner. The reason is that both these items have strong flavors. You should not mix and pair food and wine that consist of characteristics different from each other. Most people try to pair sweet wine with steak and end up getting undesirable results.

Mixing wine and food of different characteristics will prove to be a very bad experience for you. Proper pairing will work towards providing a distinct and pleasant element to your overall wining and dining experience.

Experts believe that wine with citrus taste will go well with chicken laced with butter and garlic sauce. You would simply love the outcome.

You should follow certain rules before starting off to prepare new dishes for wines with high alcohol flavor. High alcohol flavored wines should be combined with barbecued dishes such as barbecued meats. If you happen to pair your favorite wine with light flavored dish, then chances are that wine will overpower the dish. You will end up feeling that you have been just having a glass of wine for so long.

In case, you like wines that consist of a lot of tannin, then you should pair them with dishes rich in salt or protein content.

You can also enjoy desert wine via mixing sweet wine with your favorite dessert that is sweet in moderate amount. Do not look for sweets that have too much sugar content. This will over seventeen your dish.

You should also trust you own instincts prior to combining foods and wines together. Try to figure out what you want to drink and eat. Thereafter, slip some wine and take a bite of the food you have prepared in order to figure out what will suit your taste buds.

You should not go for wine that you don’t like or a dish you have never tried before. Experimenting is good but don’t try to go for anything that may provide you bad taste.

Best food and wine pairings result from a lot of research and experiment. You should learn a lot about wine, different types of cuisines and the results these provide when in combination. You would definitely be able to make great pairs if you make some efforts towards research work.
